2012 HOT List According to RogueinVogue
1. Lana Del Ray
The girl that 1950s Hollywood forgot...her debut single Video Games for me closed 2011, and for weeks was all I could possibly play. It seems that the fashion industry agrees, Video Games was played at both Emilio de La Morena and Christopher Kane's S/S 11' shows. I now regard Del Ray's debut album Kill Kill as a musical MUST.
LISTEN OUT FOR: Born to Die
2. The Pierces
Sisters Allison and Catherine make up the boho, gypsy, seventies inspired duo, The Pierces who if you close your eyes bare an eyry resemblance to an early Dusty Springfield or Karen Carpenter with a modern edge. The girls are undoubtably beautiful and stylish to boot, but their original clean music stands alone. They have uniquely managed to produce warm folky lyrics set on a haunting cool melodies, the result is simply infectious.
LISTEN OUT FOR: Kissing You Goodbye
3. Cara Delevigne
EYEBROWS, the third delevigne sister is all about the eyebrows that frame her elfin face and piercing blue eyes. Undoubtably the model of the moment, Cara's work relationship with British fashion force Burberry, continues to grow from strength to strength. See Miss Delevigne perfectly emulating Brit-Burberry cool in the latest Testino shot Burberry Campaign featuring the My Week with Marilyn star Eddie Redmayne, never has sharing a rich tea biscuit been so sexy.
WATCH OUT FOR: Total fashion industry domination
5. Elle Fanning
It must be in the genes, Dakota's little sister, Elle has officially stepped out of her sisters shadow and is carving out an enviable film career of her very own. Elle is not your average 12 year old, she wears 'grown up' labels like Valentino, Rodarte and Louis Vuitton with ease, whilst still managing to look fresh and youthful, no mean feat. With 3 films out in 2012, Elle will undoubtably continue to set the film industry and red carpers alight. See Elle along side Scarlet Johansson in We Bought a Zoo.
WATCH OUT FOR: Elle in 'Perfect Sisters'
6. Jessica Brown-Findlay
She may play the aristocratic Lady Sybil Crawley in the critically acclaimed Downton Abbey, but don't pigeon hole this young lady, who the press have dubbed as a key player in the 'corset crew,' the new clique of well-spoken twenty-something actors. In 2012 Miss Brown- Findlay will prove that she refuses to be type cast by when she plays working class girl, Emelia in Niall MacCormick's Albatross.
WATCH OUT FOR: Jessica as Emelia in 'Albatross'
7. Vanessa Kirby
I couldn't take my eyes of her as Estella in BBC 1's adaption of my favourite Dickens novel, Great Expectations. Miss Kirby emulated the tragic 'Estella' like no other and her union with Douglas Booth's character 'Pip' brought me to tears! With rumours that Kirby is embarking on a more modern romance with Booth, she is definitely one to watch, with her unusual beauty and incredible acting ability I cannot wait to see what she does next.
WATCH OUT FOR: Vanessa as 'Estella' in BBC1 'Great Expectations'
8. Rooney Mara
If you haven't already read the book, 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' then I suggest you put it on your New Year 'To Read' List. Mara plays the lead role, "Lisbeth' in the British film adaption, a role for which she is set to win a multitude of awards, and rightly so. Mara's style emulates S/S 11 'Feminine Minimalism' which quite frankly I can't get enough of.
WATCH OUT FOR: Rooney in 'Lawless' or in the inevitable 'The Girl the who Played with Fire'
9. Milly Simmonds
Her quintessentially English beauty have caught the eye of industry insiders, Milly has already modelled for heavy weights Mulberry, Burberry and Peter Pilotto. Not to mention landing a much coveted Burberry campaign, all this in under 2 years of modelling. I have the pleasure of knowing Milly personally, we were at school together and I can honestly tell you she is the most gracious girl on my list. I have a feeling that 2012 will be her year, I will be watching and so will the world!
WATCH OUT FOR: For Milly, following in the British footsteps of Rosie Huntington Whiteley
10. Suki Waterhouse
Girlfriend of The Kooks lead singer, Luke Pritchard Suki has found herself at the centre of the new London 'cool' gang. She makes Alexa and her cronies look dare I say it...old? Suki roams around London with her 'buddies' Cara Delevigne, VogueTV's Clara Paget and Georgia Jagger. She is currently a modelling M&S lingerie, but sources tell me this girl can act...watch this space!
WATCH OUT FOR: Suki attending every fashion party, looking fresh!

The Opulence of the Orient
As 2011 closes its time to put away your dalmatian, store your acidic denim and launch those snake skin trousers into outer space, in short out with the old and in with the NEW. The end of Christmas quickly blurs into the New Year and before you know it you are in the midst of January and in serious need of something to get you out of your dark hole of grey depression. Therefore may I suggest taking head from Matthew Williamson, Mary Katrantzou, Preen and Topshop (to name but a few) who are all heading east, inspired by the wonders of the orient. Delicately demure painted silks are the order of the day. Clash your prints (Mary Katrantzou style) then team with some exuberant eccentric accessories, perhaps a 'yellow' belt?
