As 2011 closes its time to put away your dalmatian, store your acidic denim and launch those snake skin trousers into outer space, in short out with the old and in with the NEW. The end of Christmas quickly blurs into the New Year and before you know it you are in the midst of January and in serious need of something to get you out of your dark hole of grey depression. Therefore may I suggest taking head from Matthew Williamson, Mary Katrantzou, Preen and Topshop (to name but a few) who are all heading east, inspired by the wonders of the orient. Delicately demure painted silks are the order of the day. Clash your prints (Mary Katrantzou style) then team with some exuberant eccentric accessories, perhaps a 'yellow' belt?
Although one of my all time favourite designers didn't take home a British Fashion Award tonight, Matthew still managed to make his mark on the occasion when Olivia Palermo and Poppy Delevingne arrived wearing dresses from his collections. Olivia opted for a black with feathered detail mini whilst Poppy, who arrived with Matthew himself wore a dress straight from his S/S 12 collection!
