Jonathan Saunders is Victorious at The Scottish Fashion Awards

Samantha Cameron opted for Christopher Kane when she presented Jonathan Saunders with his second consecutive designer of the year award. Mrs Cameron had worn Jonathan Saunders during Michelle Obama's state visit last month and it was extremely well received. Mr Saunders victory surprised guests as many including Jonathan Saunders himself believed that Christopher Kane would take the award. Other winners included Henry Holland who picked up International Designer of the Year whilst Tali Lennox received model of the year award which in my opinion was very well deserved due to her grace and professionalism. The most interesting award at fashion awards shows is always Young designer of the year, the honour that this year was bestowed on Henrietta Ludgate, a designer that deserves her growing attention. Ms Ludgate focusses on luxury Scottish textiles whilst utilising the finest British materials combined with divine Scottish craftsmanship.

I have become very interested in the recent wave of Scottish houses reinvention, the most profound being Pringle of Scotland who I hope will soon receive an Award due to it's immense heritage combined with a rare high fashion twist. Not to mention the arrival of Ex creative director of Balmain taking the design helm, there is only good things to come for Pringle of Scotland.

High Street Gold: Topshop 'Tibi' Esque Playsuit

EXessory Latest: All Hail Hats

Royal wedding fever seems to have brought more than more than an addiction to K Middy spotting, it has brought along an obsession with finding the perfect hat. This of course is no easy task, just ask Beatrice and Eugenie. Choosing the perfect hat requires knowledge and skill and of course the ability to see when something is just not working, even if it is Philip Treacy. If you are still reluctant to give a hat a go thinking that come A/W the trend will go away, think again. The 'Hat' is set to be a staple for all outfits, an accessory that no self respecting lady will be seen without. Ever since the first shots of Mario Testino's Burberry A/W 11 campaign were released featuring fur flat caps I knew that hats with here to stay. So ladies get in your hat practise, as I feel it is a skill that must be perfected and QUICK!

Look De Jour: Diane Kruger in Alessandra Rich

Never one to shy away from a fashion risk, Diane looks beautiful in a classic lace dress given a modern twist with its neon tones. Diane then finishes the winning look with a fantastic coral belt that pulls the whole ensemble together. Love!
